The
American Guild of Organists is the national professional association
serving church musicians for over 100 years. Founded in New York City in
1896, the AGO has grown to serve over 22,000 members through 340 local
chapters in communities nationwide, and in Panama and Europe.
The purpose
of the American Guild of Organists is to promote the organ in its historic
and evolving roles, to encourage excellence in the performance of organ
and choral music, and to provide a forum for mutual support, inspiration,
education, and certification of Guild members.
