Dr. Charles Ore will present a reading session on new music for the organ

Charles Ore Dr. Charles W. Ore, DMA [b. 1936, in Winfield, Kansas] is a nationally recognized organ recitalist, composer of organ and choral music, and leader in the use and development of improvisation in organ playing. Dr. Ore is currently Associate Organist at First-Plymouth Congregational, Lincoln, NE, USA.

He is a 1958 graduate of Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska. He was awarded the Master of Music Degree at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois [1961] and the Doctor of Musical Arts Degree at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, Nebraska [1986]. From 1961 until 1966, Dr. Ore was Minister of Music at First Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Chicago, Illinois and Professor of Music at Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois. From 1966 to 2001 Dr. Ore served as Professor of Music [currently Emeritus] and Chair of the Music Department [1995-2001] at Concordia University, Seward, Nebraska and as Cantor of Pacific Hills Lutheran Church [1975-2001] in Omaha, Nebraska.

In the fall of 2001 Dr. Ore was appointed to the position of Organist at First Plymouth Congregational Church, Lincoln, Nebraska where he plays the new Schoenstein Lied Organ [IV/110].
