Region VI AGO Convention

Getting to Lincoln

Via Automobile
Take I-80 to Lincoln from the east or from the west. Take the I-180 exit south toward downtown Lincoln. As you approach downtown Lincoln, you will first see Haymarket Baseball Park (Home of the Baseball Huskers and the Lincoln Saltdogs) on your right and then you will see Memorial Stadium (Home of the Football Huskers) on your left. After you pass Memorial Stadium, the highway becomes 9th Street which is one-way heading South. About five blocks turn left (east) onto M Street. Drive East on M Street (passing Saint Paul United Methodist Church on your left) to 13th Street and turn right (south). The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel main entrance is just ahead on your right. Valet parking is available for $12 per day and the municipal garage on the west side of the hotel charges $6 per day.

NOTE: Most of the downtown streets in Lincoln are one-way streets (the exception is the "main" street which is O Street) and there are occasions where the system does not seem to make sense (such as two streets in a row going the same direction). Some streets also become two-way at unexpected moments. ALSO, numbered streets run north and south, in the downtown area the east-west streets have letters of the alphabet.

Via Train (Amtrak)
The Amtrak station is about 7th and Q streets, the hotel is located at 13th and L streets, which could be a bit of a hike with luggage. Call the hotel (474-7474) and see if the shuttle is available. If not, call a taxicab. If you are interested in taking Amtrak to Lincoln, E-mail Jim Lytton for details about Amtrak service into Lincoln.

Via Airplane
Lincoln Municipal Airport is served by Allegiant Air from Las Vegas and by feeder airlines for Northwest and United. The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel does provide shuttle service to and from the airport. Rental cars are also available.

Alternatively, Eppley Field in Omaha is about 45-50 minutes away and is served by many airlines and their feeders including Frontier, Southwest and America West (now US Airways). There is a shuttle service, Omalink, which runs about every two hours between Omaha and Lincoln. The cost is about $35 one-way and $50 round trip. The shuttle does serve the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel. Eppley Express also runs shuttle service to and from Lincoln.

Rental cars are also available at Eppley Field and the drive to Lincoln takes about 45-50 minutes. Omaha and Lincoln are connected via I-80. Follow the directions above for Via Automobile.
